Online Guidebook and Manual

We have teamed up with Dozuki (They company behind iFixIt.com) to deliver you a better manual and guidebook than the traditional static booklet that comes with the product.

What is Dash?

Dash is a system that allows your phone, with all its capabilities, to replace your car stereo. It requires installation of our system as well as interchangeable faceplates that customizes Dash to work with your smartphone.

Can I use my phone?

Dash faceplates currently support iPhone 4 and 4S. We are developing Dash faceplates for Android and Windows Phone devices.

Can I still get my radio?

Yes, Dash includes an AM/FM Radio. You will also have access to your radio stations through their internet streams. There are many free apps that can help you connect to your stream. We recommend IHeartRadio and TuneIn.

Does Dash charge my phone battery?

Yes, Dash continues to charge your phone battery.

Can I install Dash myself?

We recommend having Dash professionally installed if you are unfamiliar with the process, but we do appreciate Do-It-Yourself (DIY). You can find more information for self-installation on our Dozuki portal, devium.dozuki.com. We provide step by step instructions to assist self-installation, but the guide is a generalized process.

How does the Faceplate stay attached?

Dash uses powerful neodymium magnets to maintain attachment. This reduces mechanical wear and provides a simpler and easier installation process for you when you get a new faceplate.

Will the magnets harm my phone?

We have performed extensive testing and our results show that the magnets will not harm your devices.

Modern CPUs, memory, and display technology are not affected the way older versions were. Good examples of this improvement on previous generation’s technology are screens that used Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT). They relied on magnets to focus photons onto the screen and were susceptible to small scale magnetic interference. CRTs were replaced by Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD). LCDs are powered by Light-emitting diodes (LED) and are not susceptible to degradation by Dash’s magnets.

What are some useful GPS and Navigation Apps?

Garmin and Tom Tom make navigation apps and Trapster makes a useful app letting drivers know when they are getting close to a speed trap, red light cameras, school zones, and more.

What are some Talk to Text apps that you recommend?

For those looking for talk to text/email capabilities on their iPhone 4 Dragon Dictation has a nice app that is similar to Siri’s talk to text and email capability. Another is Vlingo, it has more features than Dragon but costs 6.99.

Will my GPS signal and my Navigation apps be affected?

Your GPS signal is not attenuated or reduced by Dash. Your navigation apps will continue to work well.
